COURT FORMS
The Honorable Veronica “Vicky” Jones brings more than three decades of distinguished legal experience to the 19th Judicial District Court. A graduate of the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center, Judge Jones has served the legal community in a wide range of capacities, including prosecutor, parish attorney, private practitioner, criminal defense attorney, and family law attorney. Her extensive background across multiple areas of law provides a comprehensive foundation for her judicial service.
Judge Jones’s commitment to the legal system began early in life, inspired by accompanying her uncle to court following a life‑altering accident. This formative experience instilled in her a deep respect for the courts and a lifelong dedication to fairness, accountability, and equal access to justice.
Throughout her career, Judge Jones has been recognized for excellence in advocacy and service. She has been honored as Litigator of the Year by the American Institute of Trial Lawyers and named among the National Black Lawyers Top 100, along with several additional professional accolades.
In addition to her legal accomplishments, Judge Jones is the proud mother of one son and has devoted more than 23 years to youth mentorship, leadership development, and community outreach. She has served in various volunteer roles supporting at‑risk youth and remains an active Life Member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Judge Jones is committed to administering justice with integrity, impartiality, and compassion. She is dedicated to ensuring that every individual who appears before the court is treated with dignity and that judicial decisions reflect both the rule of law and an understanding of the real‑world circumstances affecting the people of East Baton Rouge Parish.
