Colette M. Greggs graduated from Southern University Laboratory School in Scotlandville, LA. After graduating, Ms. Greggs attended Southern University, a land grant college, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Summa Cum Laude. She went on to attend Atlanta University, Atlanta, GA, where she earned her Masters of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in Finance, Summa Cum Laude. In May 2006, she earned her Juris Doctorate from Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge, LA.
After graduating from Southern University Law Center and passing the bar, Ms. Greggs worked tirelessly as an assistant public defender. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Greggs worked as an accountant for the Louisiana Leadership Institute in Baton Rouge, LA where she maintained financial records, scheduled events, and maintained payroll records. Ms. Greggs worked as a senior claims specialist for State Farm Insurance, Baton Rouge, LA, a contact cost administrator for Westinghouse Electric Corporation, Baltimore, MD, and an accountant with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Ms. Greggs is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Louis A. Martinet Legal Society, Life Member of the Southern University Alumni Federation, Life Member of the SU 6th Man Club and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.
About Colette M. Greggs : Ms. Greggs is the daughter of the late Dr. Isaac “DOC” Greggs, famed director of the Southern University A & M College “Human Jukebox” Marching Band. She is the mother of two sons, Jamal Greggs Russell and Kyle Greggs Russell (Elysia), both of Baton Rouge, LA. Ms. Greggs remains a dedicated and devoted member of the East Baton Rouge Parish community and is an active member of the Mt. Zion First Baptist Church.
