The Honorable Louis R. Daniel is a life-long resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. After graduating from University High School in 1971, Judge Daniel received his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University with a degree in Finance in 1975. Judge Daniel graduated from LSU Law School in 1978.
Judge Daniel served as an Assistant District Attorney for the parish of East Baton Rouge from 1981 until he took office in 1997 as Judge, Division C, 19th Judicial District Court. He presently serves as an adjunct faculty member of Louisiana State University Law School, a special advisor to the Criminal Code and Code of Criminal Procedure Committee, a board member for the Capitol District Law Enforcement Planning Council, and a board member for the Louisiana Sentencing Commission.
